As it contains matter worthy of being preserved, the publisher has made a selection ... hoping it will be acceptable to the children of the present day ..."--verso of title page. Includes poems, hymns, and prayers
  • One of two editions printed by Samuel Wood in 1813; and presumably the later. In this edition there are printers' ornaments separating the segments of the title page, p. [3] is formatted in lines, the caption (The burning of John Rogers) on p. 13 is printed in mixed upper and lower case, and the publisher's statement, which appears regularly in later editions, is included. The two editions are not distinguished by Shaw & Shoemaker, entry 27852
  • Page [1], 1st count, and p. [30] blank; pasted to wrapper
  • "A dialogue between Christ, a youth, and the Devil."--p. 20-29
