Note
  • Part of the library digital collection of Early American Imprints, Series II: Shaw-Shoemaker, 1801-1819
  • At head of title: No. VIII
  • Probably calculated by Stoddard Capen. The eclipse calculations are identical with those in his New-England almanack, for 1816 (Boston) (Shaw & Shoemaker 35413). The calculations on the calendar pages differ on the average by one minute, and are frequently identical. The notes on the calendar pages are more plentiful in the present almanac, but are otherwise identical with Capen's. Capen is clearly not the "editor" whose preface appears on p. [3]-6
  • Advertised in the Independent chronicle, Boston, for Nov. 6, 1815
  • Two states noted. One has "Price 9.00 per gross" on the title page; another has "Price 9 dollars per gross."
  • Parentheses substituted for square brackets in imprint transcription
  • Title vignette
  • Advertisement for Lincoln & Edmands as bookseller and publisher, p. [48]
