- Describing an altercation between Solomon Van Rensselaer and Elisha Jenkins, and, two hours later, between Van Rensselaer and Judge John Tayler, who was joined in the affray by several other prominent political figures. "To prevent erroneous impressions, as to the transaction above mentioned, and to contradict the false reports that have been industriously circulated, by our political opponents, to answer party purposes, we publish the above statement, from actual testimony, and from a full conviction of its truth."
